The Redbud futon mattress from Serta is built to provide firmness and loft in a distinctive construction utilizing time tested components of cotton and foam. The harmonious blend of these materials combines to achieve comfort and support in a true value. The Redbud futon mattress is constructed using the special method of cottonique. Cottonique combines selected grades of cotton with polyester fibers for a unique, durable upholstery blend that outperforms and outlasts traditional cotton batting. As a result the Redbud is more resilient, more comfortable and yet surprisingly light. Combine this great mattress with any of Serta's stylish futons frames. I have this product in our extra living room that is also used as a guest room. This mattress is very comfortable (sitting and laying down) and looks nice too. One thing I have noticed, and read in a comment before I bought it, is that it tends to slide down when the futon is in the upright position. That is really the only downside.

We didn't want to give up on futons after 30 years, but needed something with more comfort. We'd tried cotton/foam layered blends several times without much success. The Redbud kicks booty--super comfy and soft, yet firm, which sounds impossible. We love it!

Very comfortable for primary bed. The biggest problem is that the mattress slips off of the frame when it is in the sitting or couch position. There needs to be a way to secure it to the frame.
