My husband and I have owned two other beds in our five years together and hated both of them. We both have back injuries and I suffer from chronic back pain. We tried a traditional spring extra firm mattress and the springs poked through and didn't give enough support. We tried a pillow top extra firm mattress which was much too soft and created sink holes, making our back pain worse. I found the Haley extra firm 8" and it came in queen size. It fits queen size sheets, it's light enough for one person to move when vaccuming or rearraning. AND, it's so COMFORTABLE. If you want a firm, supportive mattress, this is IT. No pocketing, cavities, or sinking. It supports the natural form of your body and we've had the most comfortable, most restful sleep in the five years we've been together. Also, it doesn't jiggle when your partner tosses and turns. We love it!

The "develops cavity" comment is made with reservation. A small cavity does develop but it is very slight and disappears with flipping and rotation. We were a bit concerned when it first arrived as it fells quite hard. However, after 3 months of nights on it, my wife and I do not wake up still as we did on our old supposedly firm mattress. Going with the next step down in firmness might have been too soft for us. If you like sleeping on the floor or on a camping pad this is the mattress we would recommend. The other thing that we like about it is that it can be flipped and rotated which we have noticed that many newer styles of mattresses cannot be flipped. It does have a new foam chemical smell for about the first month, but it is not bothersome.

Beware the return protection - there was a bit of a hassle on the phone because they claim it needs to be returned in its original package; it is delivered so compressed that there is no way a person could put it back in even if they could get it out without damaging the box. Also, they claim it can be returned in 30 days from delivery, but again, over the phone, I was told that if the item had been used, they wouldn't issue a refund. We ended up keeping the mattress (we were worried it was too firm at first); however, unless you are ordering something just to see what it is like, you may not want to get the return protection.

I am impressed! This futon is very firm. Coming from a Simmons Extra Firm mattress (which was perfect for me), this is actually a little too firm on its own. Fortunately, it is easy enough to put a 1" topper on it. Were I to do it over again, I might actually consider the Haley 110 instead. I am surprised, because I thought I liked the firmest of firm beds. It seems like a well made, good quality product, and I look forward to having it for many years.

I prefer a firm mattress and I got this mattress after reading some of the reviews online. This mattress was really superior in terms of the firmness and support. I sleep so much better since I have gotten this mattress, I cannot believe I kept my old futon for so long.
There is no real issue that I see with the mattress and it seems to be working out well for me. I have had the product for about 3 months, no complaints yet. I did buy the return protection to be safe, but that was not needed for me.

I was looking for a firm Futon mattress to replace my old mattress, and this is what fit the bill. It is really comfortable and extra firm, which is what I like. No more back aches for me, and I get really good sleep. I had tried the Otis Zone #9 mattress, but that was not as firm as the Haley 150. Really good product.

We love this mattress! We sent back our imitation temperpedic after three weeks because we couldn't get comfortable or get a good night sleep. We got the Haley mattress after reading about it in Esquire magazine and decided at half the price of the first mattress we bought, we'd give it a shot. (We bought the no-hassle return for $29 or so, just in case.) After the first night, we were in love, but still slightly nervous that we might still be let down after a few nights. A week later, we started raving to our friends and family. We've had it now for about three months and every night has been as comfortable as the first. I do notice that it does dent in where you're heaviest, but it seems to spring back up to normal shape within a few minutes of getting up. I am slightly worried about the longevity of the mattress, but for such a good price, even if it lasts a few years I'll feel like we got our money out of it! I'd buy it again in a heart beat and definitely recommend it to others.
One last thing: we got the super firm style and it is definitely firm. Not like you're sleeping on a board, but there's no "squishy-ness" to it - which we love.

I read about these mattresses in Esquire magazine, having never before heard of this product. I am so glad I tried it. It took a little adjustment...this mattress is truly FIRM, but now, I am so glad I jettisoned my (relatively new, yet cavity-prone) pillow-top mattress forever.
