The Gold Bond Story: Comfort In A 3rd Century
People in the late 1800's were much like we are today. Folks needed their rest after a long day's work. Good sleep has always been the goal for centuries. But a really comfortable mattress? That was a fairly novel idea back in times when mattresses were mostly known as "lumpy". Gold Bond changed that standard, and started a future filled with happy, well-rested customers.
By the end of World War II, Gold Bond was delivering mattresses throughout the East, adding prestigious establishments, leading universities and posh hotels to their clientele. By then, the company had been blending its own cotton for 30 years and a "GOLD BOND" mattress had become an essential bedroom centerpiece. The quality was obvious to fussy homemakers. The comfort was welcomed by weary executives and hardworking tradesmen.
In time the company's contract and retail business continued to grow. People knew the Gold Bond name, so they demanded it. Quality and comfort were always being refined. By now steel innerspring technologies were dominating, yet Gold Bond's pure cotton and hand-made features were beginning to stand alone.
Today, Gold Bond is not only known as a superior quality leader in the mattress industry, it is also world renowned for making the finest futon mattresses. And for starting something entirely new, the modern futon. More on Gold Bond...

Comments about Gold Bond 10" Cotton with Double Foam Core Futon Mattress:
I am really impressed with the hardness and quality. We have tried other mattresses from IKEA - the most firm ones before this but were not that great. I personally prefer mattresses that are tough and hold the shape and this was something that served my purpose really well. We got it about 2 months and its been good so far. This is good if you have a back pain or you do not like soft mattresses. [...] was on time and the price is also reasonable for the quality.

Comments about Gold Bond 10" Cotton with Double Foam Core Futon Mattress:
We check gold bond website before we buy. It said they use solid pre-pressed foam that will last years. But when we used it several days, the 10" mattress flattend to 4" or less. So I doubt what's inside of it. I opened it to find out it has no solid foam at all, there are two layers small pieces foam, like recycle pieces. it became to 1/4" when I used my fingers to press it. We felt to be cheated. Store owner asked us to contact the gold bond company, the company owner said the mattress is good even if it is flattend and no solid foam as they promised on their website. What can we do? Hope you will be a smart shopper and do yourself a favor, opend the mattress to see what is inside for real.

Comments about Gold Bond 10" Cotton with Double Foam Core Futon Mattress:
I have been using futon mattresses for over 25 years. I recently purchased the 10" gold bond futon to go on my new queen size bed frame. It is quite comfortable and has good support. Before having the 10" queen size gold bond I had been using the 8" full size version to sleep on. The 10" is a bit softer. I guess the extra inches add more softness. I personally prefered the slightly harder 8" mattress. I can't complain because the 10" is still a very comfortable mattress. I find the Gold Bond Futons to be of superior quality to others I had in the past. I would definitely recommend it. [...]

Delivery was exactly as they said. Mattress is firm, as they stated. I just wish it had more softness.
