The Gold Bond Story: Comfort In A 3rd Century
People in the late 1800's were much like we are today. Folks needed their rest after a long day's work. Good sleep has always been the goal for centuries. But a really comfortable mattress? That was a fairly novel idea back in times when mattresses were mostly known as "lumpy". Gold Bond changed that standard, and started a future filled with happy, well-rested customers.
By the end of World War II, Gold Bond was delivering mattresses throughout the East, adding prestigious establishments, leading universities and posh hotels to their clientele. By then, the company had been blending its own cotton for 30 years and a "GOLD BOND" mattress had become an essential bedroom centerpiece. The quality was obvious to fussy homemakers. The comfort was welcomed by weary executives and hardworking tradesmen.
In time the company's contract and retail business continued to grow. People knew the Gold Bond name, so they demanded it. Quality and comfort were always being refined. By now steel innerspring technologies were dominating, yet Gold Bond's pure cotton and hand-made features were beginning to stand alone.
Today, Gold Bond is not only known as a superior quality leader in the mattress industry, it is also world renowned for making the finest futon mattresses. And for starting something entirely new, the modern futon. More on Gold Bond...

Comments about Gold Bond 4" All Cotton Futon Mattress:
The mattress was very thin and flimsy. It is barely long enough, it sags in the middle, so you can see the top of the futon frame. All in all it looks very cheap. I would not reccomend it. If you want thick and fluffy, you may just have to bite the bullet and pay for it. Also, it has a very bad smell, that still hasn't gone away.

Comments about Gold Bond 4" All Cotton Futon Mattress:
My only complaint about this product is that it slides off the futon, but I believe that this is a flaw with the futon frame that I have and not due to this product. I am very happy with my purchase...

Comments about Gold Bond 4" All Cotton Futon Mattress:
I wanted to convert a recently-vacated bedroom in my house to a combination workout room/guest room and also have additional attractive, functional seating for parties and family gatherings. This mattress, combined with a beautiful older futon frame I found at a thrift store, and a cover I made myself (I even had a zipper on hand, saved from an old sleeping bag) really fills the bill. The mattress is quite substantial, and yet folds pretty well. [...]

Comments about Gold Bond 4" All Cotton Futon Mattress:
In my occupation I travel and do short-term rentals. The full-size futon serves well for a small apartment couch and very easy to manipulate for sleeping. It's easily transported (roll, cover w/ two large garbage bags and tape seams). I have used this one for two months now and it has been quite comforable. [...]

Comments about Gold Bond 4" All Cotton Futon Mattress:
Bought this thinking that a 4" mattress would be thick enough that the support bars wouldn't be felt through it, but I was wrong. Had to put plywood underneath to give it a flat feel, no support at all. Very uncomfortable, had to buy mattress topper to fix problems with mattress.
